In July 1948, with the purchase of land, St. John's Missionary Baptist Church was born. Beginning with Rev. Theo Oscar Mitchell as our First Pastor in 1948 up to today with our current Pastor and Servant Leader Rev. Davison A. Virgil, St. John's Missionary Baptist Church of Lawton has been ministering and serving the community continuously for more than 75 years.
We are committed to serving our community through our Feeding Ministry, Clothes Closet and Prison Ministry. We also have our Sunday School, the Women's and Men's Ministry, Youth and Children's ministry along side other evangelistic activities. If you are looking for a spiritual home where you will feel comfortable and loved, St. John's Missionary Baptist Church of Lawton is the place for you and your family. We welcome you to join us Sunday Mornings at 9:30 AM for Sunday School, and 10:45 AM for Sunday Morning Worship. You have an open invitation to join us then and in all our other activities as often as you can. Most importantly, we love God, we serve God and we want to share that love with you, please feel free to come worship with us, you just may find your new church home with us here at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church of Lawton!
